Triumph will be launching a new motorcycle this year, as confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto. And we think it’ll be the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400. Rajiv Bajaj also gave a confirmation that a new Triumph motorcycle will be launched every year for the next 3 years. That has left us salivating that we could be seeing a Triumph Speedmaster 400 or a Tiger 400 over that time period. But that is a bit too far ahead down the pipeline.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be the British manufacturer’s third offering based on its 400cc platform. It’ll have cafe racer styling with the frame-mounted half-fairing surrounding the headlight and the windshield and clip-on handlebars, just like what we saw when it was spied some time ago. The headlight unit will be similar to that of the Triumph Speed 400.

The rest of the bike is expected to remain unchanged from the roadster and as such, will get a 43mm inverted fork and a gas-charged preload adjustable monoshock suspension setup. Stopping the bike will be a 300m disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear. The upcoming cafe racer will be powered by the same 339cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 40PS at 8000 rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500 rpm.

Pricing for the Triumph Thruxton 400 is expected to be similar to that of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X’s Rs 2.62 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. It is expected to be launched in India towards the end of 2024 but will likely be showcased first at EICMA 2024.
