The drum variant gets 130mm drum brakes at both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System) as standard. It is available in two colour options: Striking Red and Wicked Black. The rest of the details are the same as the Single Seat variant. As a sporty 125cc bike, the TVS Raider 125 gets a muscular fuel tank with tank extensions and the bike has an overall striking road presence. It gets an LED headlight and tail light with halogen turn indicators. The bike gets an LCD instrument console that shows speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, low fuel indicator, gear position display, a clock, and fuel efficiency readouts. It also gets two riding modes: Eco and Power. Being the base variant, it misses out on the TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and voice assistance for turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, weather updates, music control, social media updates and more.
The Raider is powered by a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 11.38PS at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6,000rpm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork, and a gas charged monoshock with 5-step preload adjustability. The sporty 125cc bike gets a 80-section front and 100-section rear tyre setup with 17-inch wheels at both ends. It has a wheelbase of 1,326mm, ground clearance of 180mm and a kerb weight of 123kg.
The TVS Raider rivals the likes of the Hero Xtreme 125R, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and the Honda SP125.
The Raider has been a huge hit in the Indian two-wheeler market ever since its entry a few years ago due to its ability to provide thrilling performance from a 125cc engine. Over the years, more variants were introduced with advanced features which has made the top-end variants with all the bells and whistles more and more expensive. So, with the addition of the drum brake variant to the lineup, the entry point of owning the Raider 125 has become more affordable and should help the bike improve upon its already established popularity.
