TVS has teased what seems like the upcoming version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V on its social media handles. While the teaser only shows a close-up of TVS’ stallion badge on the tank, the surrounding body lines look quite similar to that of the Apache RTR 200 4V. While the 160 too has a similar design, it was updated at TVS MotoSoul, held in December 2023, which sort of rules it out. Since TVS has used #ApacheRTR in their captions, the faired TVS Apache RR 310 should also be out of contention.
Hence, this could very well be a new spruced-up variant of the RTR 200 with a new, slightly more powerful engine tune. If that’s the case, we hope TVS also throws in some extra goodies including a quickshifter, a traction control. All of which could give the RTR 200 a fresh breath of life until it receives a comprehensive update. On that note, it’s highly unlikely that TVS will give it a 6-speed gearbox without a heavily revised or a new engine.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V currently rivals the Bajaj NS200, KTM Duke 200, and Yamaha MT-15. With a performance bump, this Apache could have a better edge over its rivals. At the moment, the Apache RTR 200 4V is priced at Rs 1,47,820 (ex-showroom). The updated variant could be launched in a few weeks at a slightly higher price.
