TVS has already updated most of its existing lineup to meet the stricter BS6 emission norms, but there are a couple of models that still remain: a pair of 110cc offerings. These are the Scooty Zest 110 scooter and the popular Victor commuter bike. Information shared by the manufacturer tells us that both these models should be launching quite soon, sometime in the next few weeks.
When you think about it, a BS6 update to the Victor shouldn’t be too big an ordeal for TVS. The bike uses the same 109.7cc motor that does duty in the Radeon, Star City Plus and now also the Sport BS6, albeit with a slightly different compression ratio and state of tune. In the process of its update, the bike will receive fuel-injection, so output figures may change slightly and hopefully fuel-efficiency should improve by a fair margin.
As a result of the more expensive tech needed, prices will also go up by around Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000. For reference, the BS4 bike was priced between Rs 56,622 and Rs 59,602. Thanks to the addition of FI, we may also see TVS equip the new bike with its Glide Through Technology (GTT).
Expect underpinnings to remain the same, so the Victor will be held together by a single-downtube frame suspended on a conventional telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. A front disc brake will be offered as an option but ABS will not be available.
