Ultraviolette has entered into a strategic alliance with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation to install fast chargers in key HP petrol pumps across India. Now Ultraviollete F77 riders can easily go long distance touring without having to worry about charging woes.
The installation of the charging network will happen in two phases. In the first phase, petrol pumps across 12 states will be fitted with fast charging stations by Ultraviolette. This will be followed by a pan-India expansion as part of the second phase. According to Ultraviolette the fast charging infrastructure will not be limited to major cities or just national and state highways, but even remote areas will fall under its coverage.
One of the biggest woes EV owners face currently is the lack of charging infrastructure which ends up limiting the amount of distance that can be traveled on an electric vehicle. That said, the Ultraviolette F77 is already near the top when it comes to range and it offers a claimed 307km at full charge.
This partnership with petrol pumps is a major step in reducing range anxiety that comes with EVs and this step will go a long way in pushing EV adoption as petroleum companies already have a large network already in place. Major brands have already started working on similar partnerships, Honda had announced one with HP back in 2022 just days after Hero had announced its partnership with Bharat Petroleum.
