It seems like Ather is gearing up to introduce a new electric scooter variant soon as a homologation document has surfaced and according to the document, it looks the new scooter will be called 450X HR, where ‘HR’ probably stands for ‘High Range’.
From the homologation document, we can see that the upcoming electric scooter will get a 3.66kWh capacity battery pack and an extended claimed range of 158km, which is 8km more than that of the 3.7kWh (likely to be a rounded-off figure) variant of the 450X. This is due to the revised throttle maps and coasting regen we also saw on the 450S. Also, the 450X HR produces a peak power output of 6.4kW, which is the same as that of the 450X’s 3.7kWh variant.
Dimensions-wise, the upcoming scooter has the same wheelbase, width and height as that of 450X but at 1837mm, is shorter in length by 54mm. It will come equipped with five riding modes: Warp, Sport, Ride, Smart Eco and Eco.
This development comes in just a little over a month after the long range variant of the Ather 450S surfaced online.
In another news, Ather has announced the “Ather Service Carnival”, which is a nationwide service offering from November 1st to November 10th. As part of the campaign, Ather is offering a free 15-point comprehensive vehicle check-up, 10% discount on labour charges and a 5% discount on parts.
So, the Ather 450X HR, with more range, is expected to come with a small price hike over the Rs 1,44,921 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) price tag of the 450X’s 3.7kWh variant, and will replace it. Its rivals will be the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, TVS iQube Electric and its upcoming ST variant, Hero Vida V1 Pro and the Simple One.
