A new month has begun with the promise of new two-wheelers entering the Indian market. So, here’s a look at the upcoming bikes, scooters and EVs to be launched in June 2024:
Bajaj CNG Bike
The Bajaj CNG bike will be launched on June 18, 2024 and will likely be priced around the Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom) mark. It will most likely be called the Bajaj Fighter. It gets a sloper-like engine, with a capacity of 125cc. The CNG cylinder will be placed underneath the seat and will also get an auxiliary petrol tank.
This will be the first production CNG bike in India, and is the perfect middle ground between petrol-powered bikes and electric bikes. With the current level of technology, electric bikes have limited range and are heavily dependent on charging infrastructure. On the other hand, CNG bikes are cheaper to run compared to petrol. It remains to be seen how Bajaj tackles the sales of the bike considering not every town has a CNG pump.
More Affordable Bajaj Chetak
The Bajaj Chetak lineup will get a more affordable variant in June 2024. Rajiv Bajaj, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, revealed in a post earnings call that the upcoming variant will be launched in the first quarter of the current financial year (April-June 2024). The more affordable variant will get a new swingarm and a hub-mounted motor as opposed to the mid-mounted motor in the current Chetak scooters. The variant is expected to be priced just under the Rs 1 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will help Bajaj stand a better chance in the highly competitive electric scooter segment in which TVS and Ola Electric already have affordable sub-Rs 1 lakh electric scooters.
BGauss RUV 350
BGauss will be launching a new electric scooter called the BGauss RUV 350 on June 3, 2024. Not much is known about the scooter at the moment. The upcoming electric scooter is likely to slot between the base BGauss BG C12i range and the top-end D15.

BMW R 1300 GS
The all-new BMW R 1300 GS was recently teased by BMW Motorrad in India and the bike is expected to be launched by mid-June 2024. The ADV is powered by a bigger 1,300cc, twin-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine producing 145PS and 149Nm, which is 9PS and 6Nm more than the current bike. Its design is also a complete departure from how the big GS has always been identified. Not only this, the 1300 GS also gets better suspension, is lighter than its predecessor, and promises to perform better off the road as well. It is expected to be priced around the Rs 25 lakh - Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
Jitendra Primo S And Primo Plus
Jitendra EV unveiled two new variants of the Primo electric last month, called the Primo S and Primo Plus. They get 2.04kWh and 3.26kWh capacity battery packs, with claimed ranges of 82km and 137km respectively. The EV maker is expected to announce the prices of both variants sometime this month, with the Primo S likely to cost around Rs 90,000 and the Primo Plus likely to be priced a little over Rs 1 lakh (both ex-showroom).
