Hero is all set to let the sun in with a brand new sporty yellow paint scheme for the Xtreme 200S. But, that isn’t just it, the updated faired bike was spotted at a dealer event, and it gets its biggest update yet, what is it?
4-valve technology! The 2023 Hero Xtreme 200S will be powered by the same 199.6cc air-/oil-cooled engine as the XPulse 200 twins. So expect the power and torque to go up to 19.1PS and 17.35Nm, instead of the 18PS and 16.45Nm on the current Xtreme 200S. Getting in line with the BS6.2 emission norms, the bike will also get a second generation of onboard diagnostics system for real-time emission tracking.
While nothing else looks different in terms of design, we do get a brand new sporty yellow shade on the faired bike. The bright paint scheme gives a fresh appeal to the bike. Oh wait, it also gets new raised clip-on handlebars, unlike the older single-piece one on the current model. So expect slightly revised ergonomics. That said, it’ll still be comfortable unlike being as committed as the Yamaha R15 V4.
Now about the underpinnings – the telescopic fork and monoshock seem to be the same; however, the petal discs are a new addition. This comes in place of the current circular discs, and are borrowed from the Xpulse 200T 4V.
Lastly, we expect the bike to witness a price hike of Rs 4,000 to 5,000 over the current model, which is priced at Rs 1,35,360, ex-showroom Delhi. It goes up against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
