Recently, there have been several reports of the 2024 Honda CB200X being launched with a slip-and-assist clutch. However, these reports are false. Moreover, the bike was equipped with this feature back in September 2023. Besides, the price has remained unchanged since its launch, as it costs Rs 1,46,999 (ex-showroom Delhi). Honda has chosen to keep the price unchanged despite inflation, which is pretty commendable.
There is nothing new on the Honda CB200X since its last update in September 2023. The bike remains the same in terms of its design, colour options, underpinnings as well as the engine. It continues to be powered by a BS6.2 and OBD-2 compliant 184cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 17.26PS and 15.9Nm, paired with a five-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.
Equipped with LED lights all around, the CB200X features a full LCD instrument console. It includes a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meters, gear position Indicator readouts and a clock. However, it misses out on smartphone connectivity.
The bike gets a gold-finished inverted fork and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by 276mm front and 220mm rear petal discs, with single-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres. All in all, the CB200X is very similar to the Honda Hornet 2.0 on which it is based, except for small differences in weight, riding posture, and design. Honda should’ve given this motorcycle at least an increased suspension travel to live up to its ADV-themed design.
The Honda CB200X continues to be available in three colours including Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Nightstar Black and Sports Red. The closest alternative is the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, which is Rs 723 cheaper at Rs 1,46,276 (ex-showroom Delhi) and has much better off-road capability.
