Yamaha is testing an updated version of its popular XMax 300 and the test mule has been spotted in Europe. The maxi-scooter will get a bunch of aesthetic changes which will likely be complemented by a few technical updates.
The test mule sported a revised fascia with a more aggressive, Ducati Panigale V4-like LED headlight. Even the front panels have been redesigned and now feature a winglet-style element that houses LED indicators. Though the body – including the taillight – was heavily camouflaged, it appears to be more compact than the current model.
The new Yamaha XMax 300 seems to feature the same underpinnings, comprising a telescopic fork and dual shock setup and disc brakes on both ends. It even continues with the same 15/14-inch alloy wheel setup. The current-gen Yamaha XMax 300 is powered by a 292cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine belting 27.6PS and 29Nm.
Yamaha is unlikely to bring the XMax 300 here anytime soon. So, if you are looking to buy a maxi-scooter, your options are restricted to the Keeway Vieste 300 and the BMW C 400 GT. But if you want a Yamaha maxi-scooter, you are restricted to the Aerox 155 only.
