Our associate editor, Tushar Kamath, spends a day with the Hyundai Exter to bring you that answer in our Instagram reel

The Hyundai Exter is the Korean marque’s newest model to go on sale. It’s a micro SUV and its main nemesis in the country is the Tata Punch. Now, you have seen the Exter in its glory and you might be having all the details of it at your fingertips. But how is the carmaker’s cutesy new model to drive in real life?

Well, to find out, let’s set some context first. The Hyundai Exter gets a 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, teamed with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. This engine, paired with the manual, can be had with a CNG kit as well. We sample both the manual and AMT petrol-only versions of the Exter.

Here’s what Tushar Kamath, our associate editor, had to say in our Instagram reel:

The Hyundai Exter price ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). And apart from the Tata Punch, the Exter locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Citroen C3. It’s also an alternative to some variants of the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
