SUVs continue to be the talk of the town with multiple launches this week and updates on more to come in the future. Mahindra grabbed headlines as it revealed the much-awaited XUV400 EV, while teasers from Ferrari and MG have us anticipating details about their upcoming SUVs.

Toyota Hyryder strong-hybrid prices

Toyota has revealed the prices of its first compact SUV in India, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It gets the option of mild- and strong-hybrid powertrains with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The strong-hybrid powertrain commands a premium of less than Rs 2 lakh over the concurrent mild-hybrid variant. Prices for the all-wheel drive and other mild-hybrid variants will be revealed soon.

Hyundai Venue N Line launched

Hyundai launched its second N Line offering in the country, which came in the form of the Venue N Line. Following the footsteps of the i20 N Line, it gets similar N Line-specific cosmetic revisions to its interior and exterior, along with mechanical tweaks to the suspension and steering setup.

Facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross launched

Citroen launched the updated C5 Aircross at a premium of Rs 2.89 lakh over the outgoing model. It received several design revisions to the exterior and interior without any significant changes to the features list. The SUV remains mechanically unchanged and is now offered in a single variant only.

Ferrari’s SUV gets a date

The highly anticipated Ferrari Purosangue, the first performance SUV from Maranello has finally got a debut date. It’ll break cover on September 13 to become the first V12-powered SUV with a prancing horse emblem.

Tata Tiago EV confirmed for production

On World EV Day, Tata announced that it will expand its EV portfolio with the introduction of the Tiago EV soon. It will most likely become the most affordable EV in the country and could make use of Tata’s Ziptron tech that is currently seen on the Nexon EV and Tigor EV.

Mahindra XUV400 Breaks cover

The Mahindra XUV400 finally debuted after multiple teasers. It is a longer all-electric version of the XUV300, powered by a 150PS/310Nm electric motor using a 39.5kWh battery pack. The setup is good for an ARAI-claimed claimed range of up to 456km. It’ll take to roads in January 2023

Volkswagen Taigun turns one

The Volkswagen Taigun completed its one year of sales in the country this week. To commemorate this occasion, Volkswagen released an Anniversary Edition of its compact SUV offering. It is based on the Topline variant and gets distinctive design elements like a new blue shade borrowed from the Virtus, black decals on the C-pillar, and black ORVM caps and roof foil. 

Facelifted MG Hector’s interior revealed

Ahead of its launch near the end of 2022, MG revealed the updated Hector’s interiors through a teaser. The facelifted SUV’s cabin has received major design revisions and sports a dual-tone theme with a metal-finish strip running across the dashboard. As part of the update, the SUV will get ADAS systems added to its safety kit.
