Yamaha Showers Love And Thunder On Brazil-spec FZ25

Personally speaking, I find the idea of having my favourite action comic heroes on t-shirts and other small merchandise like my baby Groot penholder or Hulk bath towel pretty cool. So, I wouldn’t blame you if you’d nerd out on this Yamaha FZ25 Thor Edition that’s recently been launched in Brazil.

Licensing Avengers from Marvel seems to be a new fad for bikemakers. In India TVS is big on the NTorq 125 Marvel-based SuperSquad edition and it’s obvious why; there's a certain youthfulness to this form of fandom. This Thor edition Yamaha FZ25 sports the new ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ based Asgardians’ colours and those bright red and yellow streaks look good with the Yamaha Blue.

Mechanically however, the motorcycle is the same as a standard FZ25, which reminds me more of Thor from End Game 2 than the shredded Chris Hemsworth we’ve seen in the first Avengers instalment. It makes a megre 21.3PS and 20.59Nm from its 249cc, single-cylinder engine. But what’s cool is that, in Brazil the website lists power figures for both regular petrol and Ethanol (flex-fuel).      

The Yamaha FZ25 Thor edition is priced at 21,990 Brazilian Real (roughly Rs 3.4 lakh), whereas the standard edition costs 21,490 Real (roughly Rs 3.33 lakh). The approximate Rs 7,000 difference for the special edition is similar to what you’d pay for the TVS NTorq 125 too. 

For instance, a standard NTorq 125 with a front disc costs Rs 81,561 and the Marvel themed Supersquad edition costs Rs 87,661 (ex-showroom Delhi).
