Yamaha has showcased the the MT-09 at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and they might be launching it in India soon. Here's a detailed breakdown of what the bike has to offer

Engine

The MT-09 is powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled, inline-three engine that delivers 119PS at 10,000rpm and 93Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, featuring a slipper clutch and gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

Underpinnings

The suspension setup includes an inverted fork and a monoshock, while the SP variant upgrades to a fully adjustable KYB fork and Ohlins monoshock. For braking, the MT-09 features dual 298mm front discs paired with a radially mounted Brembo master cylinder, along with a 245mm rear disc brake.

It is fitted with tyres measuring 120-section at the front and 180-section at the rear, both mounted on 17-inch wheels. It has a kerb weight of 193Kg and gets a 14-litre fuel tank capacity.

Features

The MT-09 is equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument console, offering smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Riders can choose from 3 riding modes: Sport, Street, and Rain—along with 2 additional customisable modes. It also comes with cruise control, a lean-sensitive traction control system, wheelie control, lean-sensitive ABS, and all-LED lighting. Additionally, the Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission) variant features actuators for both the clutch and shifter, allowing for automatic gear changes or manual shifting via a rocker switch on the left handlebar.

Launch Timeline:

The bike is expected to be launched in India sometime soon, most likely by the end of this year. With an expected price 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
