Yamaha India has showcased the much-awaited Tenere 700 adventure motorcycle in India. The bike on display is the older model but we do hope Yamaha launches the 2025 version. The motorcycle is expected to launch in India by October 2025 via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.

Design

The Yamaha Tenere 700 has a very purpose built design which allows the motorcycle to go offroading and touring as well. The tall flyscreen at the front, large front-end, high mounted front beak, and the long single-piece seat compliment the adventurous design of the motorcycle. The bike has a very slim mid and tail section which makes it look sporty. The Tenere 700 is available in a single blue colour scheme.

Engine and Underpinnings

The Yamaha Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 73.4PS and 68Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a double cradle frame, and suspension duties are handled by a USD telescopic fork and monoshock. Brakes include dual 282mm discs at the front wheel and a single 245mm at the rear. The motorcycle has a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels setup. The Tenere 700 has a high seat height of 860mm, a ground clearance of 225mm and a fuel tank capacity of 16-litres. It weighs in at 211kg kerb, which is pretty light considering the size of the motorcycle.

Features

The 2025 Yamaha Tenere 700 gets all-LED lighting and a brand-new 6.3-inch vertical TFT display which has two display modes: Street and Explorer. The TFT display also allows for smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-connect app and enables call/SMS alerts, music control and turn-by-turn navigation. The Tenere 700 gets ride-by-wire throttle, two riding modes: Sport and Explorer, and switchable traction control. The bike also comes with dual-channel ABS, and a USB charging port for added convenience.

Rivals

The Yamaha Tenere 700 does not have any natural rivals as such in India but one can consider the Triumph Tiger 900 as its competitor.
