A leaked dealer event invite sparks speculations about the Japanese bikemaker’s plan
[UPDATE: Yamaha has launched the MT-15 Version 2.0 in India. Check out all the details about the bike in our launch story]

A ‘Block Your Date’ invite from Yamaha for April 11 has surfaced on the internet, sparking speculations about the Japanese bikemaker launching an EV in India. However, this is not a launch or unveiling but rather a dealer event to share the brand’s plans for the year.

Earlier this month, Yamaha showcased its new electric two-wheelers and even launched the Neo’s e-scooter in the European market. The Japanese bikemaker had already mentioned that the Neo’s as well as the E01 will be restricted to Europe for a couple of years, so these are unlikely to come to India anytime soon. Furthermore, there have been no sightings of any new Yamaha product being tested on Indian roads.

However, the Japanese company may announce its plans on bringing more premium products to our market. Now, with the Blue Square flagship dealerships set up in many parts of the country, Yamaha could finally introduce the YZF-R3, MT-09 and Yamaha R7. Also, thanks to the success of the Aerox 155, we may see the Yamaha NMax 155 in the country this year.

Yamaha could also showcase the 2022 MT-15 to the dealers before the official launch. The naked motorcycle’s production and sales numbers hint that the updated model may debut as early as next month.
