At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, Yamaha India unveiled two new colour options for the Yamaha FZ-X: Chrome and Metallic Black.
The Chrome colour option gets a shiny chrome tank design with gold-coloured wheels while the rest of the panels are painted in black. The Metallic Black colour option gets an all-black treatment on the whole motorcycle. Mechanically, the bike has remained unchanged and is powered by the same 148cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 12.4PS and 13.3Nm.The prices of the new colour schemes will likely be announced in the coming weeks. Yamaha also recently updated its lineup with new colour schemes for various models.
Also showcased at the Expo were two scooters currently sold abroad: the Yamaha Nmax 155 and the Yamaha Grand Filano. The Yamaha Nmax 155 is a maxi-scooter with aggressive styling and a bold presence. It gets a large swooping windshield design that is well integrated into the rest of the front apron. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 15.10PS and 14Nm. It gets a telescopic fork and twin-shock absorber suspension setup while braking duties are handled by single disc brakes at both ends. Features-wise, it comes equipped with an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts.
The Yamaha Grand Filano is a retro-inspired 125cc scooter that was launched in Indonesia last month. It gets sleek styling and comes equipped with all-LED lighting and a TFT instrument console. The scooter is powered by 125cc, single-cylinder, mild-hybrid engine producing 8.29PS and 10.4Nm.
We hope these scooters eventually make their way to India as they’ll significantly bolster Yamaha’s scooter lineup. And adding a maxi-scooter along with the already available Yamaha Aerox 155 to their lineup will help Yamaha develop a stronghold in the sporty 155cc scooter segment.
