For 2023, Yamaha has updated the Fazer FZ-15 in Brazil. It is the same model as the FZ-FI available here in India. Here is all that the updated model gets:
The primary updates on the 2023 FZ-15 are the projector headlamps which sport a similar design as the ones found on the FZ-25. Adding to the change is the redesigned front visor, which is edgier as compared to the previous model. Apart from this, the bike retains the same muscular and bulky design language.
In terms of dimensions, the FZ-15 witnesses a 5mm increase in ground clearance. Even the length has increased by 10mm, courtesy of the redesigned headlight unit. Adding to the changes is the smaller fuel tank capacity at 11.9 litres as opposed to the previous 13 litre capacity.
While the bike retains the same 149cc fuel-injected engine, it produces a lower 12.9Nm at 6000 RPM. The previous model produced 13.3Nm at 5500 RPM. The peak power output stays the same at 12.2PS at 7500RPM.
The underpinnings remain the same with a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup and discs at both ends for braking. However, the updated FZ-15 rolls on premium Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
The update is likely to head to our shores and will command a slight premium over the current gen model. That said, it might miss out on the Pirelli tyres from the Brazilian market. The updated model in Brazil costs 16,990 Brazilian Real (around Rs. 2.68 lakhs), whereas the current India-spec model retails at Rs 1,13,700 (ex-showroom Delhi).
