Will share the same engine as the R15

Yamaha India has sparked excitement among enthusiasts with a recent Instagram reel that showcases  their current lineup alongside some international models. This teaser, part of their ongoing ‘Call of the Blue’ campaign, hints at the potential arrival of several bikes, including the much-anticipated Yamaha XSR 155. The reel also gave a glimpse of models like the Tenere 700, MT-09, R7, and the N-Max, alongside the neo-retro XSR 155.

The Yamaha XSR 155, already available in international markets, draws its design inspiration from its larger siblings, the XSR700 and XSR900. Featuring a retro-modern aesthetic, the bike gets a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a flat seat.

The XSR 155 shares its platform with the popular Yamaha R15, which has been a hit in India. Powering the XSR 155 is a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 19.3PS at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.

The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with block-pattern tyres, suspension duties are managed by a telescopic fork and a monoshock. In terms of braking, the XSR 155 is equipped with dual disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS. The XSR tips the scales at 134kg wet, and has a fuel tank capacity of 10.4 litres. Its ground clearance is 170mm, with the seat height being 808mm, making it accessible to rides of all stature.

The XSR 155 boasts a round LCD instrument cluster, along with LED lighting all around.

Yamaha enthusiasts in India can expect the XSR 155 to hit the market later this year, with an estimated price tag of around Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the XSR 155 will compete against the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin.
