The aggressive and sporty R3 gets some aesthetic updates

Yamaha has updated the lovely YZF-R3 for 2023, giving the lovely bike a set of LED indicators as standard now. The previous bulb-type indicators did look rather dated and unsightly on an otherwise aggressive-looking bike. We expect this change to make its way onto the India-bound R3 as well, given that now even the R15 comes with all-LED lighting

The bike gets three new colours- Purple, Blue and Black, of which the black looks hands-down the hottest! Interestingly, the purple paint scheme is the same one that the YZF-R25 got earlier this year in Malaysia. Apart from that, the bike remains unchanged, with its likeable 321cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin mill with 42PS and 29.5Nm. Its sporty design too is untouched. Even in terms of underpinnings, the inverted fork, monoshock and disc brakes haven’t seen any changes.

And 7,29,000 Yen though, which is approximately Rs 4.45 lakh, the R3 does sound rather pricey. But when the bike makes its way to India in the coming months, we think it’ll be priced a lot lower than that, probably around the Rs 4.0 lakh  mark (ex-showroom). The bike will then go up against the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.
