(UPDATE: Yezdi has launched all three bikes in India, head here to read the launch story.)
Yezdi is all set to re-enter the Indian two-wheeler market tomorrow. And while most of us thought the bikemaker would bring in two models (ADV and Roadking Scrambler), Yezdi will also unveil the Cruiser as the third offering.
Going by the latest teaser, while the Roadking Scrambler and ADV will tackle offroading, the Cruiser will be, of course, for the tarmac. It doesn’t seem to flaunt the typical cruiser stance but seems more along the lines of a Harley Davidson Roadster. It features a round LED headlight and a wide handlebar with bar-end mirrors.
We think it’ll be powered by the same motor as the one used in the Jawa Forty Two. It’s a 293cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill that dishes out 27.33PS and 27.12Nm. However, we expect the Yezdi Cruiser to get a different state of tune. The Scrambler, too, will use the same motor but tuned differently to suit its trail-going demeanour.
The Yezdi Roadking Scrambler is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.8 lakh, while the ADV is expected to cost approximately Rs 2 lakh and rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan. We think the Yezdi Cruiser will retail at slightly lower than the Scrambler and rival the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
