Soon after onboarding Mahendra Singh Dhoni as their brand ambassador, Citroen India has revealed a special Dhoni Edition for the Citroen C3 Aircross, which has now arrived at dealerships. The limited edition only features cosmetic enhancements over the standard version, and there are no mechanical updates to it.
One can expect it to be available in multiple variants and prices are expected to be announced soon.
The ‘Dhoni Edition’ of the C3 Aircross’ main highlight is the number “7” decals which have been added on the bonnet, rear door and the tailgate in a stripped pattern. It also features ‘Dhoni Edition’ decals placed on the front door and tailgate. Other than these minor cosmetic changes, the rest of the design remains unchanged.
The layout and design for the dashboard remains the same as before. However, you get bespoke black and white seat covers with orange and blue highlights along with the number “7” and the legendary cricketer’s signature embroidered on the front seats. It also comes with Dhoni edition themed cushions and seat belts.
On a closer look, you’ll also notice that this limited edition comes packing illuminated door sills and a dash camera, the latter an added safety feature.
The SUV is available in 5- and 7-seater configurations for you to choose from.
There are no feature additions made to the C3 Aircross Dhoni edition. The features list on the C3 Aircross includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, manual AC, 6 speakers, roof-mounted AC vents, steering-mounted audio controls, a rear wiper and washer and a rear defogger.
Safety features include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitor, hill start assist, and a reverse parking camera. It must be noted that Citroen India will be updating the C3 Aircross with six airbags soon.
Underneath the hood, it gets the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 110 PS and up to 205 Nm. The engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter unit.
Prices for the Dhoni edition are yet to be disclosed, however, one can expect it to command a minor premium over the standard C3 Aircross that is priced from Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 14.33 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
