Citroen Basalt: Design
The Basalt sports a coupe design which sets it apart from other SUVs in the segment. The front design is identical to the C3 Aircross and features a split LED DRL setup and LED projector headlamps. It gets sporty looking 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a sloping roofline which is the key attraction of the SUV. The rear features wraparound tail lamps and a shark fin antenna to dial up the sportiness.
The Basalt is available in 5 monotone and 2 dualtone hues: Polar White, Platinum Grey, Cosmo Blue, Steel Grey, and Garnet Red, Polar White with a grey roof (dualtone) and Garnet Red with a black roof (dualtone).
Citroen Basalt: Features
In terms of features, the Citroen Basalt gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, and steering mounted audio controls.
Safety is taken care of by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking camera with sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Citroen Basalt: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Basalt is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engine which makes 82 PS and 115 Nm and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 110 PS and up to 205 Nm. The NA petrol engine can only be had with a 5-speed manual, while the turbo-petrol engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter transmission.
