Hyundai India has commenced deliveries of the Exter SUV, its newest offering. Reservations began in May and it already had over 10,000 bookings when the prices were announced on July 10. The Exter is Hyundai’s entry-level SUV and slots below the Venue in the carmaker’s lineup. It’s basically the Korean marque’s answer to the popular Tata Punch.
The Hyundai Exter is offered in five trims: EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect. It’s offered with a choice of either a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.2-litre CNG powertrain. In terms of features, the Hyundai Exter packs a lot. Highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, digitised driver’s display and a sunroof. Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags as standard, a dual-camera dash cam, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and ABS with EBD.
The Hyundai Exter’s petrol and CNG powertrains come with a 5-speed manual as standard while the petrol engine can be paired with an optional 5-speed AMT. Take a look at the detailed specifications in this table below:
