A fleet of more than 100 units of the Kinetic Green E-Luna have been delivered to Safe and Secure Delivery Solutions, the official delivery partner of BigBasket.

Kinetic Green has set up a special corporate program called E-Luna Fleets to provide the Kinetic E-Luna to its e-commerce partners in the last mile delivery segment. The EV maker expects around 50,000 bookings for the electric vehicle from this segment during 2024-25. Kinetic Green currently has a network of over 350 dealerships for the E-Luna and also provides IT support like real-time GPS tracking and vehicle performance diagnostics through the KG Connect platform.

With the E-Luna getting swappable batteries, CEO of Kinetic Green, Sulajja Firodia Motwani said in a recent exclusive interview that battery swapping is a good solution for the E-Luna and B2B applications and that it has the potential to grow rapidly in the B2B sector. This is because with the battery swapping infrastructure, delivery executives can directly come to the swapping station and pick up a fully charged battery instead of having to wait for the EV to be charged, thus reducing downtime in between deliveries. Moreover, minimising EV downtimes is crucial for efficient fleet management.

BigBasket had previously partnered with Zypp Electric and Ampere Electric for its fleet of electric scooters. Now, with the Kinetic Green E-Luna, it has added these electric workhorses to its fleet.

The iconic Luna nameplate made a comeback last month when the Kinetic Green E-Luna was launched at prices of Rs 69,990 and Rs 74,990 (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the X1 and X2 variants respectively. The X1 variant gets a 1.7kWh capacity battery with a claimed range of 80km while the X2 variant gets a 2kWh capacity battery with a claimed range of 110km. The Kinetic Green E-luna doesn’t have any direct rivals currently. But it might get one pretty soon though as TVS Motor Company has trademarked the TVS XL EV and TVS E-XL names. We think the TVS E-XL could be an electric version of its workhorse, the TVS XL100.
