The next big launch from Kia India is the facelifted Seltos, the prices for which are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Pre-launch bookings are underway and the Seltos has already racked up over 13,000 bookings. It will be offered in three broad trims: Tech Line, GT Line and X-Line. We spent some time with the last two trims and here are all the differences and similarities between both.
The Seltos X-Line builds on the GT Line trim, which is the sportier looking version of the compact SUV. So bits such as sportier bumpers and 18-inch alloys are common between the two. Both versions also get the sweet looking connected LED tail lamps, larger grille and reprofiled LED DRLs are some of the design changes made to the Seltos.
One difference between both the models comes in the form of their colour schemes. The Seltos X-Line is offered in only one Xclusive Matte Graphite colour, while the GT Line will come in multiple hues. You can check out the variant-wise colours here.

Keen-eyed viewers will also notice another minor difference. The GT Line gets chrome and grey inserts around the grille, bumpers and door cladding, while the same has been blacked out in the X-Line for a stealthier look.
The dashboard layout and design are the same across all the trim levels. It gets dual 10.25-inch integrated displays comprising a digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. The orientation is similar to the EV6 and looks premium. However, there is one difference here between the two: the GT Line’s cabin is finished in black with white inserts while the X-Line gets a black/green colour scheme.
Both the cars being higher-spec variants, they get almost all the bells and whistles, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat and keyless entry with push-button start.
Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and most importantly, ADAS.

The Seltos X-Line gets just one feature over the GT Line: a head-up display.
So we come to one main similarity between both the trims and that’s the powertrain option. They get a choice of 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engines, teamed with a 7-speed dual-clutch and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions, respectively. If you want the iMT (manual without the clutch pedal) with these engines, or the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit, you need to step down the lineup.
Prices of the facelifted Kia Seltos are expected to be announced in the coming days and we suspect it could start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq, as well as the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
