Citroen India has revealed the full price list for the C3 Aircross, which starts from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The three-row compact SUV is available to buy in three broad variants: You, Plus and Max. You might have seen how the C3 Aircross looks like in its top-end variant. But in this report, we’ve got our hands on the entry-level You variant of the Seltos, which we’ll be explaining in our image gallery.
Up front, you continue to get the split headlight setup and the familiar grille design from the top-end model. However, the grille is finished in normal black plastic instead of the gloss unit found in the higher-end variants. Also, this being a base-spec trim means you don’t get LED DRLs and fog lamps either.
In profile, the C3 Aircross rolls on 17-inch steel wheels, which thankfully gets plastic covers. However, bits such as door cladding and roof rails, that look macho, have been deleted in this trim.
More deletions can be found in the rear, where the gloss black plastic trim connecting the tail lamps in higher variants as well as a rear washer and wiper have been given the boot. Also, the skid plates in the rear bumper are finished in black as opposed to grey in the higher-end model.
Inside, the dashboard design and layout resembles the top-end model, but this being a base model, it gets an all-black dashboard instead of the dual-tone black/grey hue. It also misses out on an infotainment system and gets fabric upholstery as opposed to leatherette, which is limited to the top-end variant.
Another point to note is that this variant is offered only as a 5-seater, as the 7-seater option is limited to the top two trims. On the positive side, you have a large 511-litre trunk that’s capable of taking more than a weekend’s worth of luggage.
The features list is just the bare essentials, including a digital driver’s display, manual AC, power windows on all four corners, and a tilt adjustable steering wheel. As for safety, you get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.
Powering the Citroen C3 Aircross is a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a 6-speed manual. This is the sole powertrain on offer, and later down the road you can expect an automatic as well as an all-electric version.
The Citroen C3 Aircross base variant is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, as well as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens.
