First, the design changes. The facelifted XL6 sports a mildly revised grille with an extra dose of chrome. Then there’s the larger 16-inch dual-tone alloy rims that not only give it a better stance, but more premium appeal. Apart from that, the MPV remains largely similar to the outgoing car.
There are six colour options to choose from: Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Arctic White, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, and Splendid Silver. Colour coding for the last three have changed, so there will be a minor change in its shade. It can now also be specced with a dual-tone black roof in the Splendid Silver, Brave Khaki and Opulent Red body shades.
Inside, the facelifted XL6 sports revised upholstery and an updated grey wooden panel that runs along the width of the dashboard. The main change, though, is the presence of the new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech (telematics only) that debuted in the Baleno.
Other new features include ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, 360-degree camera, and most importantly, four airbags. Features that have been retained from before include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, and a coloured multi-info display.
The XL6 features Maruti Suzuki’s revised 103PS 1.5-litre petrol engine from the recently launched Ertiga. It gets Suzuki’s DualJet and mild-hybrid technology. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, while the ancient 4-speed torque converter has been replaced by a 6-speed torque converter with paddle shifters.
The facelifted Maruti Suzuki XL6 has already garnered over 3600 bookings since pre-bookings opened up on April 11. It is also being offered on a subscription basis with plans starting from Rs 25,499 per month. This plan will cover the cost of vehicle, registration, maintenance, insurance and road side assistance. The premium MPV will renew its rivalry with the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo, and facelifted Ertiga.
