The FZ 25, though, remains exactly as is

Yamaha started off 2022 by sprucing up the FZS Fi V3 with the addition of the Deluxe variant. And now, the Japanese giant has backed that up by updating the FZS 25.

What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The 2022 Yamaha FZS 25 is priced at Rs 1,43,300 (ex-showroom Delhi), same as before. However, the company had hiked the FZS 25's price by Rs 2,000 this month itself.

Even after the hike, the Yamaha FZS 25 continues to rival the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar F250; both of which undercut it.

What’s New?

For 2022, the Yamaha FZS 25 gets two new colours, matte copper and matte black. As the names suggest, the former wraps the bike in an eye-catchy copper colour while the latter lends it a sinister dark look.

Additionally, both colours get golden accents and alloy wheels, which make it look quite premium.

What's Unchanged?

Apart from the colours, the bike remains completely unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 249cc single-cylinder engine putting out 20.8PS and 20.1Nm.

The feature list comprises LED illumination, dual-channel ABS, and a multifunction LCD instrument cluster. Meanwhile, the bike is sprung on a telescopic fork at the front and a seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.

With a kerb weight of 154kg and a seat height of 795mm, the FZS 25 remains very accessible for all kinds of riders.

What Should Have Been Changed?

We believe Yamaha could’ve introduced more features like Bluetooth connectivity or a USB charging port, which are standard for its rivals. This would’ve given the bike a better fighting chance in today’s market.

ZigSays

The FZS 25 has always been a frugal, likeable motorcycle. And even though this is a subtle update, we believe the new colours might help boost sales. That said, the FSZ 25 is still no match for the segment-leading TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
