Quick Highlight:
2025 Kawasaki Ninja 500 gets a price hike
It gets a new livery
Remains mechanically unchanged
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 has always been one of the most expensive motorcycles in the segment. At Rs 5,29,000 (ex-showroom), it now costs Rs 5000 more than before. The motorcycle gets a new paint scheme and that's about it, the Ninja 500 remains mechanically unchanged for 2025.
Design
In terms of design the Kawasaki Ninja 500 looks like a typical super-sports motorcycle with some design elements from other Kawasakis. It gets an all LED headlight and tail light but still uses halogen indicators.
Engine
The Ninja 500 uses a 451cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor which produces 45PS and 42.6Nm. The engine offers a smooth and linear power delivery. It produces the same power as the discontinued Ninja 400 and about 5Nm more torque. Which means that the ninja 500 runs at a very relaxed state of tune.
Underpinnings
The Ninja 500 uses a high tensile steel frame along with non-adjustable front suspension. The motorcycle still handles well and can manage corners with finesse. It weighs 171kg which is not a lot for a 451cc motorcycle.
Ergonomics
In terms of ergonomics, the Ninja 500 offers a perfect balance between a sporty and comfortable riding position. The higher set clip-ons and rear-set footpegs make the Ninja 500 a very capable sports touring motorcycle.
Features
In terms of features the Ninja 500 is one of the most basic motorcycles for the price. It only offers standard features like a slip and assist clutch, dual channel ABS and that's about it. It also gets a coloured LCD screen without navigation. For the price, the Kawasaki should've offered a lot more including a traction control and quick shifter.
Zig says
In 2025, the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is one of the most under equipped motorcycles in the segment. It has only got its reliable Japanese engine to boast about. Its main rival is the Aprilia RS 457 which not only offers a lot more performance but is also loaded with tech. At Rs 4,20,000 (ex-showroom) the Aprilia also costs a lot less. That said, the Ninja is quite an easy bike of the two and quite comfortable to ride.
