Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the F77 Mach 2 in India at an introductory price tag of Rs 2,99,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) for the first 1,000 customers. The Mach 2 is more powerful than the previous-gen F77, has more range and comes with a host of modern features. Ultraviolette also revealed its plan to expand to 15 cities across India.
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is available in two variants: F77 Mach 2 standard and F77 Mach 2 Recon. The F77 Mach 2 standard has an introductory price of Rs 2,99,000, whereas the F77 Mach 2 Recon costs Rs 3,99,999 (both prices ex-showroom Bengaluru), the F77 and F77 Mach 2 do not come under the EMPS or Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024. It doesn’t face any natural rivals from any electric bike, but other petrol-powered alternatives around the same price brackets are KTM Duke 390, TVS Apache RTR 310, and Yamaha MT-03.
Here is its price comparison with the previous-gen F77:

In terms of features, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is equipped with a fully digital console. It comes with three ride modes – Glide, Combat, and Ballistic. The F77 Mach 2 standard variant comes with 3 levels of dynamic regen with an optional 10-level dynamic regen whereas the F77 Recon Mach 2 has the 10-level dynamic regen as standard. The Recon variant gets 3 levels of traction control as standard, but the standard variant gets it as an optional feature.
Moreover, the F77 Mach 2 gets charge limit, park assist, find my F77 and Deep sleep/vacation mode as standard. However, high-tech features like Violette AI, geofencing/delta watch, lockdown, crash alerts and ride analytics are available as optional. Additionally, Ultraviolette also plans to bring more features in the future including hill hold assist, Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), display themes, on-board navigation and more!
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 sits on an all-new trellis frame. It gets an inverted fork and a rear monoshock, both preload adjustable. Braking is managed by a 320mm front and a 230mm rear disc brake, with switchable dual-channel ABS. Equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, it has 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres. With a ground clearance of 160mm, the F77 Mach 2 has an 800mm seat height. The standard variant has a kerb weight of 197kg whereas the Recon weighs 207kg.
With the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 the Bengaluru-based EV maker has resolved the key shortcomings of the previous-generation bike and with the base variant’s introductory price, buying an F77 has become a lot more accessible now. That said, the fact that the cool tech and fancy features (many of which are essential for an EV) are optional add-ons, even on the top-end Recon variant, is a bit of a bummer. Apart from that, Ultraviolette’s planned phase-wise expansion should help in garnering better sales, not to mention making premium electric bikes a bit more mainstream.
