Back in March, Ducati revealed the Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse edition internationally. And now, the Bologna-based bikemaker has officially launched it in India.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
It’s priced at Rs 10,99,000 (ex-showroom pan India). Compared to the standard model, the Fasthouse trim will cost you Rs 10,000 more. It rivals the recently launched Triumph Street Scrambler which costs Rs 9.35 lakh. However, for a similar price tag, you can also opt for other modern classics from the British marquee like the Speed Twin or the Bonneville T120.
What’s New?
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse edition takes inspiration from the Mint 400 race bike used in the American off-road race. The bodywork is painted in black and grey with the chassis draped in Ducati Red. The fuel tank gets a “Fasthouse” logo right below the bike’s badge. You also get an aluminium badge on the right side of the chassis with the number of the bike from the total 800 units.
Not so surprisingly, all the units allotted to India are already sold out.
What’s Unchanged?
Apart from the cosmetic updates, everything else on the Fasthouse edition remains identical to the standard model. You get the same 803cc air-cooled L-twin motor pumping out 74PS and 66.2Nm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slip and assist clutch.
The tubular steel trellis frame is suspended on a 46mm fully adjustable fork and preload- and rebound-adjustable monoshock. The braking hardware too has been retained on the limited edition model: 330mm dual front disc and a 245mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
ZigSays
For just a premium of Rs 10,000 over the standard trim, the Fasthouse edition makes for quite a good deal. Not to mention, the Desert Sled has already proven to be a seasoned off-roader.
