It will be the most affordable Ducati offering with the Panigale badge in India
  • The Panigale V2 is the replacement for the Panigale 959.
  • It will be the first BS6-compliant Ducati bike to go on sale in India.
  • Styling of the upcoming sports bike is inspired by the Panigale V4.
  • Ducati has confirmed that its upcoming sports bike, the Panigale V2, will debut in India on August 26. It will be the first BS6-compliant motorcycle from the Italian bikemaker for India. Ducati hasn’t shared pricing details for its entry-level sports bike, but we expect it to retail for around Rs 15.50 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The Panigale V2 will be the replacement for the Ducati which was discontinued as it didn’t meet the new emission norms. Read more about the bike here: Baby Panigale Incoming

The first thing that you will notice about the V2 is its all-new styling which has been inspired by the Ducati Panigale V4. The edgy split LED headlights with the slim DRLs that looks like an eyebrow gives it a menacing face. Designers have managed to make the tail section even sharper and thankfully, the side-mounted ugly exhaust pipes have been replaced with a stubbier underbelly unit. Another thoughtful addition is a colour TFT instrument cluster as the older LCD unit looked quite dated. We have already ridden the bike and you can read the Ducati Panigale V2 review.

On the other side of the fairing sits a 955cc Superquadro V-twin motor. The twin-cylinder engine has been carried forward from the 959 Panigale but Ducati engineers have managed to make it BS6 compliant and add 5PS more power and 2Nm of torque. It’s now rated at 155PS and 104Nm with a 6-speed gearbox for company. The monocoque chassis and the suspension hardware have been carried forward on the new bike. Ducati Panigale V2: Image Gallery

The Ducati Panigale V2 will not have any rivals in India as the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has been discontinued and there is still time before the new Triumph Daytona 765 makes its debut. However, we must also add that these two rivals are mid-capacity sports bikes while the Panigale V2 is almost a litre-class motorcycle.
