Nissan Magnite AMT Is The Most Affordable Automatic SUV In India

Nissan India has launched the Magnite AMT on our shores, with prices starting from Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This transmission is offered with the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in five broad trims: XE, XL, XV, Kuro Edition and XV Premium. It’s for those who want a more accessible automatic transmission in the Magnite lineup.

As you can see in the table, the Magnite AMT is up to Rs 50,000 more expensive than its equivalent manual variants. Also, its starting prices make it the most affordable automatic SUV you can buy in India today.

Nissan Magnite AMT: Specifications 

The Nissan Magnite AMT gets the 72PS 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, teamed with a 5-speed AMT, a combo found in its sibling, the Renault Kiger. To make life easier in town, the Magnite AMT also has creep mode, making driving in bumper to bumper traffic easier. Also, the Magnite gets hill start assist and electronic stability control, meaning those standing starts on slopes are taken care of. It’s also fuel efficient, with an ARAI-claimed number of 19.7kmpl. 

The Magnite AMT joins as the second automatic option for the Nissan SUV after the CVT that’s offered with the turbo-petrol engine. 

Nissan Magnite AMT: One New Colour

Along with the introduction of the Magnite AMT, Nissan has also introduced a new colour option for the sub-4 metre SUV: Vivid Blue colour with a black roof. This hue will be exclusive to the Magnite AMT variants and will be limited to the higher-end trims.

The Nissan Magnite AMT goes up against other AMT-equipped SUVs such as Tata Punch/Nexon, Hyundai Exter, Renault Kiger and Mahindra XUV300.
