The Maruti Suzuki Fronx starts off with a great first impression, thanks to its mini Grand Vitara-like styling. Up front, it’s almost a xerox copy of the larger copy, thanks to the large front grille, flanked by a pair of split LED headlights. In profile, the sloping roofline looks sporty, while the cladding around the arches and muscular haunches makes it look rugged. It sits on 16-inch dual-tone alloys that give the crossover a purposeful stance. Connected LED tail lamps and a bumper with skid plate round off the overall design.
If you’ve stepped in any of Maruti’s recent offerings, then accumulating to the Fronx’ cabin will be a cakewalk. The design is very similar to the Baleno, with a floating nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Another Grand Vitara influence can be seen in the cabin, where the SUV gets a black/maroon interior colour scheme.

In terms of features, the Fronx gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, a coloured multi-info display, cruise control and keyless entry with push button start. And in terms of safety, it features up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and parking sensors.
With the Fronx, Maruti has brought back the 110PS 1-litre Boosterjet engine (now with mild-hybrid tech) from the erstwhile Baleno RS. This unit will be sold alongside the 90PS 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine. A five-speed manual is standard, while automatic options include a five-speed AMT with the NA petrol and six-speed torque converter with the turbo-petrol.
