Royal Enfield celebrated its 120th anniversary in style at the 2021 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, by taking the wraps off its 120th Year Anniversary Edition of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The exclusive online sale will commence today at 7pm, and now the manufacturer has revealed the on-road (Chennai) pricing for the two motorcycles. Take a look at the table for comparison between the prices of the standard model with the Anniversary edition:
Models |
On-road Chennai price for the 120th Anniversary Edition |
On-road Chennai price for the standard model (base colour / top-end colour) |
Premium vs base colour / top-end colour |
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 |
Rs 4,50,000 |
Rs 3,23,380 / Rs 3,47,461 |
Rs 1,26,620 / Rs 1,02,539 |
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 |
Rs 4,80,000 |
Rs 3,41,424 / Rs 3,65,499 |
Rs 1,38,576 / Rs 1,14,501 |
As you can see, the special edition variants command a considerable premium. That’s the cost you pay for the painfully gorgeous attention-to-detail on the hand-made emblems, hand-painted pinstripes, and more importantly, the exclusivity of being one of the 60 models (each) allocated for the Indian market.
But it’s not just the looks, as Royal Enfield has also thrown in accessory kit worth Rs 18,600 for the Interceptor 650, and Rs 19,500 for the Continental GT 650 as standard. This includes a factory-fitted engine guard, fly screen, heel pads, touring/ bar-end mirrors, handlebar brace pad (Interceptor only), metal sump guard, and premium brown seat cover with colour coded handlebar grips.
And to ensure peace of mind, the Chennai-based bikemaker has also thrown in an extended warranty package for the fourth and fifth year in addition to the standard three-year warranty on both bikes. This package is worth Rs 4,700.
All in all, even though the anniversary edition variants are pretty expensive, we reckon it will be sold out in no time solely through Royal Enfield’s sheer brand value. It managed to sell out the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus edition in literal seconds, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the 650 twins fly off the shelves the same way.
