Having gone missing from the Jupiter’s lineup for quite some time now, TVS has finally launched a disc brake-equipped version of its popular 110cc scooter. The disc brake is limited to the ZX variant, and in addition to better braking equipment, this new version also gets TVS’ i-TOUCHstart system. Essentially an ACG starter, the i-TOUCHstart system offers silent and instant starts, quite like the Activa 6G.
The Jupiter ZX Disc is priced at Rs 69,052, making it Rs 3,950 more expensive than the equivalent drum brake variant, which is a reasonable premium to pay considering the inclusion of the ACG starter as well. Moreover, the ZX Disc variant is still more affordable than the drum brake-equipped Classic variant priced at Rs 69,602. For reference, the Jupiter ZX Disc in its BS4 guise used to sell for Rs 59,990, so the stricter emission norms and inflation combined mean that it is now nearly Rs 10,000 more expensive than it used to be. Full details are available below:
August 24, 2020: TVS Motor Company, a reputed manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the world, today introduced TVS Jupiter ZX Disc variant with an upgraded electric start technology ‘i-TOUCHstart’*. The technology provides a silent and instant start minus the cranking noise, making it ideal for repeated starts in stop-go traffic. ‘i-TOUCHstart’* also improves battery life and provides a maintenance-free system.

The TVS Jupiter ZX is equipped with Ecothrust Fuel injection (ET-Fi) technology and ‘i-TOUCHstart’* with an integrated starter generator system which delivers 15% better mileage, better startability, refinement along with durability.
