In recent years, TVS has been at the forefront of introducing new technologies with its products at an affordable price. The latest TVS product to join the bandwagon is the new Jupiter ZX Disc variant, which is now offered with the TVS intelliGO technology at Rs 72,347 (ex-showroom Delhi). Interestingly, despite offering the additional feature, its price remains unchanged.

The intelliGO is TVS lingo for the automated engine cut-off when idling for specific durations -- something we have seen on the Hero MotoCorp and Honda Activa 125 BS6, and more recently on the Yamaha’s scooter lineup. However, the Jupiter is the only scooter in the 110cc segment with the feature. However, the drum brake of the ZX doesn't get this feature.
Apart from this, the TVS Jupiter is mechanically unchanged. It continues to use the fuel-injected 110cc engine producing 7.47PS at 7,000rpm and 8.4Nm at 5,500rpm. In terms of hardware, the scooter gets a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.

The TVS Jupiter ZX is also loaded on the feature front. The scooter gets a LED headlight, a 2-litre glove box, a mobile charger, and a 21-litre underseat storage. TVS has also equipped the Jupiter with the iTouch Start tech that cranks the engine without the noise of the starter coil thanks to an alternator current generator.
The TVS Jupiter ZX locks horns with Honda’s breadwinner, the Activa 6G which is priced at Rs 70,444 (ex-showroom). With the new features and a marginal price difference between the two, which one would you pick?
