Three months after the Yamaha Aerox 155 debuted in India, the Japanese bike maker has introduced a new Metallic Black colour for the maxi-scooter at no extra cost. Apart from this colour, the Aerox is available in the Racing Blue, Vermillion Grey and the special edition Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition colours. While the standard model is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh, the special edition demands Rs 1,500 more.
The new colour is a welcome addition for those who aren’t a fan of the flamboyant shades of the standard model. This new colour gives a blacked-out treatment for the wheels and the majority of the bodywork, with the central spine and the mudguard finished in white to offer a nice contrast. Complementing the new colour is the dapper grey accent on the front side panels. While we do like this colour, the Yamaha World GP 60th Anniversary Edition livery would have been a great addition to the mix.
Yamaha has made no mechanical changes to the scooter. The Aerox 155 continues to use the Yamaha R15-sourced 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 15PS and 13.9Nm.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and competes with the newly launched Aprilia SR 160. However, the Japanese scooter has an edge over the Aprilia in terms of performance and features.
