UPDATE: Honda Cars India has launched the Elevate SUV from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
Honda Cars India is gearing up to launch the Elevate SUV in India on September 04. This is an all-new Honda offering after a long time. Bookings for the car have already commenced and deliveries are expected soon after launch. Honda is looking to get a piece of the compact SUV-segment pie by launching the Elevate SUV. It will be offered in four trims – SV, V, VX & ZX. Let us take a look at the top five details of this SUV just ahead of its launch.
On the outside, the Honda Elevate comes with a boxy design with an upright silhouette. The fascia gets a large grille with horizontal slats along with LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and indicators.
Honda is also offering all-around cladding on the Elevate including chunky wheel arches. In profile, the car also gets roof rails and ORVMs borrowed from the City. The alloy wheels too bear resemblance to the City’s design. The rear consists of LED tail lamps and large Elevate badging on the tailgate.
The interiors of the Honda Elevate get an upmarket appeal thanks to the ample use of premium materials including soft-touch elements and a floating touchscreen infotainment system. Ite gets dual-tone dashboard along with brown and black leather upholstery combination. Lower variants, on the other hand, get a black / beige colour scheme as seen in the one-above-base V variant gallery.
Passengers will benefit from a sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control and wireless phone charger.

The new Honda Elevate will come with Honda Sensing - the Japanese carmaker’s suite of ADAS tech. This will include automatic emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane assist and high-beam assist amongst others. Honda is also offering its connected car technology - Honda Connect with the Elevate.
Some other safety features on the SUV include six airbags, ESC, hill hold assist and ISO-FIX child seat mounts.
Honda has plonked in the City’s 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Elevate. It develops 121 PS and is paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Honda is not going to offer City’s strong hybrid powertrain with the Elevate. In the future, an all-electric version is on the cards as well. The Honda Elevate will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder and VW Taigun. Hence Honda could do well by pricing the Elevate with an expected starting price of around Rs 11 lakh.
