In the recent months, specifically during August and September 2023, we witnessed the introduction of numerous new automobiles into our market, notable among them the Honda Elevate and 2023 Tata Nexon facelift. While the majority of anticipated models for this year have already made their debut, there remain a handful, especially new variants, that are poised to hit the market in the latter part of 2023. Let's take a glance at the vehicles we anticipate will be unveiled in October 2023:
Ever since its introduction, the Nissan Magnite got just a single CVT automatic transmission option, which is available only with the turbo-petrol powertrain. However, Nissan is now expanding the Magnite’s lineup by introducing a 5-speed AMT with the 1-litre naturally aspirated engine, a configuration that is also found on its sibling, the Renault Kiger.
Also, the carmaker will introduce a special edition of the sub-4m SUV called the Kuro edition, where "Kuro" translates to 'black' in Japanese. It is expected to feature a black-themed design both on the exterior and interior and may incorporate some new features to enhance its appeal. Furthermore, bookings for this Kuro edition have been opened to customers.
It's highly anticipated that the second-generation Lexus LM MPV, based on the new Toyota Vellfire, will be launched in October. Bookings for this luxury MPV, which boasts a striking design and opulent interior, commenced at the end of August 2023. In the Indian market, it is expected that this MPV will be equipped with a robust 2.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. You can find more details about the new Lexus LM here.
The arrival of the 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV has been long awaited. It has been spotted undergoing testing on multiple occasions, with the most recent sightings suggesting even a pickup version. Apart from expected styling revisions, you can also expect more power from the same 2.6-litre diesel engine, which currently delivers 90PS and 250Nm in the 3-door version. It will continue to be a four-wheel drive offering. Check out more details about the Force Gurkha in this report.
BYD is expected to introduce its third offering, the Seal sedan, in October in the Indian market. While specific details of the India-spec model are yet to be disclosed, there is a possibility it could be equipped with the 82.5kWh battery pack paired with a dual motor setup, delivering an impressive 312PS and 360Nm. The BYD Seal is anticipated to offer a claimed range of 700km, positioning it as a competitor to models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the Indian electric vehicle market. Check out more details up here.
Skoda is all set to take the wraps off the new generation Kodiaq on October 4. The latest iteration of the Czech marque’s premium three-row SUV features evolutionary styling with plenty of modern touches. Also, the interior is now minimalistic with more features and tech, while the powertrain options are a whole lot cleaner. For more details about the Skoda Kodiaq 2024, head to this report.
As the festive season gains momentum, it's not uncommon for the Indian automobile industry to roll out various special edition models, which is a typical trend during this period. With some major festive occasions still on the horizon, it's quite likely that a few car manufacturers may seize the opportunity to introduce new limited or special edition vehicles in the market.
