Carmakers around the world inroduced various performance-oriented cars this year, including pure-combustion, hybrid, and all-electric. And we have created a list of the fastest cars in terms of acceleration that were unveiled globally with most of them were also launched in the Indian market. In fact, this list of top 10 fastest cars also inludes a couple of SUVs. So, let us dive deeper into it.
Porsche Taycan Turbo S - 2.4 seconds
Porsche introduced the all-electric Taycan facelift this year and it is also by far the fastest car available in India. The top-of-the-line Taycan Turbo S can reach 100 kmph from a standstill in 2.4 seconds with the launch control and tops out at 260 kmph. On the other hand, it takes 7.7 seconds to achieve the 200 kmph mark.
Powered by a 105 kWh battery pack, the Taycan Turbo S uses dual electric motors producing 775 PS or 952 PS and up to 1,110 Nm with its launch control function. Notably, it delivers a claimed range of 568-630 km (WLTP).
McLaren 750S - 2.8 seconds
Although the Taycan Turbo is the fastest car in India, the new Mclaren 750S is the quickest combustion-powered sports car of the year. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds. However, the 750S is the fastest on the list when it comes to 0-200 kmph, taking 7.2 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 332 kmph.
The new 750S is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 mill that makes 750 PS and 800 Nm. This motor is coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive setup.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS - 3 seconds
The legendary Porsche 911 has made it to the third spot on the list thanks to the new 911 Carrera 4 GTS. This model promises to hit 100 kmph from stationary in a flat 3 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. Whereas, the 0-200 kmph takes 10.7 seconds.

It gets a 3.6-litre six-cylinder petrol engine mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is noteworthy that it employs a hybrid system that Porsche has equipped the 911 for the first time. While the engine delivers 485 PS and 570 Nm, this combined hybrid powertrain output stands at 541 PS and 610 Nm. The top speed is rated at 312 kmph.
Porsche Macan Turbo Electric - 3.3 seconds
We have not even reached the 5th fastest car on the list yet and here is another Porsche or the third to be specific. The range-topping Macan Turbo Electric can do 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds with the launch control, while 200 kmph takes 11.7 seconds.
It is powered by a 100 kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors producing 639 PS and 1,130 Nm. The Macan Turbo Electric claims to offer a WLTP range of 558-630 km and maxes out at a speed of 260 kmph.
Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance - 3.3 sec
The Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance combines its mighty V8 with electrification to achieve 100 kmph from a standstill in 3.3 seconds – identical to the Macan Turbo Electric. The top speed is capped at 250 kmph (or 290 kmph with an optional package).
It is propelled by a 2-litre inline-4 turbocharged petrol engine paired with a small battery pack and an electric motor producing a combined output of 802 PS and 1,430 Nm. Whereas, the engine solely delivers 612 PS and 900 Nm.

The M4 CS is the top-of-the-range and one of the most potent M models BMW has ever made. With a tuned-up engine, it sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds quicker than the M4 Competition Coupe xDrive. On the other hand, the M4 CS can reach 200 kmph from a standstill in 11.1 seconds and tops out at 302 kmph.
It is powered by a 3-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 558 PS and 650 Nm. This motor is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance - 3.4 seconds
The top-rung C63 S E Performance is another AMG that came with the halved cylinder count making room for a 4-cylinder engine paired with a rear-axle electric motor. However, this does not make it slower or less potent than the previous model. It goes from 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 280 kmph.
The 2-litre inline-4 turbo-petrol engine is coupled to an electric gas turbocharger, plus there is a small battery pack and an electric motor. The combined output of the hybrid system is rated at 680 PS and 1,020 Nm, while the engine makes 476 PS and 545 Nm. The powertrain is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The new M5 gets a 4.4-litre V8 turbocharged combined with a battery pack and an electric motor that generates 727 PS and 1,000 Nm. Whereas, the V8 makes 585 PS and 750 Nm. Not only that, the battery enables an EV-only range of up to 69 km with a maximum top speed of 140 kmph.
Aston Martin Vantage - 3.5 seconds
Last but not least, British marque Aston Martin introduced the new generation Vantage this year and it continues with a pure-combustion engine rather than going the hybrid way. Yet it can reach 100 kmph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 305 kmph.
Under the hood, it gets a 4-litre V8 turbocharged engine that makes 665 PS and 800 Nm and is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The power is sent to only the rear wheels like the 750S.
