It is to be noted that the Creta Electric comes in five variants across 10 colour options. Customers will have to pay out an additional Rs 73,000 for the optional 11 kW AC charger. Now, let us check out the ICE rivals of the Creta Electric.
Price range - Rs 11.11 lakh to Rs 20.41 lakh (ex-showroom)
The first alternative to the Creta Electric is its sibling, the Creta, which is also the best-seller in its segment. One can either choose the petrol or diesel fuel option – the top-spec 1.5-litre SX (O) DT with 7-speed DCT costs Rs 20.25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the 1.5-litre diesel SX (O) DT Knight is priced at Rs 20.42 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Creta is available in three engine options, including two distinct petrol units across several transmission choices. Key highlights of the SUV include a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch dual-display setup, dual-zone AC, 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
Price range - Rs 11.19 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Grand Vitara is another option from India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki. It has been one of the top-seller models in the compact SUV segment. The top-spec variant of the SUV costs Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is considerably cheaper than the Creta Electric. Maruti also offers it with a choice of CNG variants.
The uniqueness of the Grand Vitara lies under its bonnet as it offers a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain, which is paired with an electric motor and a small battery pack. It is also one of the handful of models in the segment to come with an all-wheel drive system. Key features of the Grand Vitara include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, and a 360-degree camera.
Price range - Rs 11.13 lakh and 20.51 lakh
Kia Seltos is another compelling alternative to buy against the Hyundai Creta Electric. Like the Creta, it can be had in three engine options across five distinct transmission options, including the iMT unit. That said, the top-spec X-Line variants of the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel motor are priced at Rs 20.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia offers it with a wide variety of colour options, including a matte paint scheme.
The Seltos gets a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup, LED headlights and fog lights, a powered driver’s seat, front seat ventilation, dual-zone AC, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and a heads-up display. Whereas, the safety kit includes 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS with 19 functions.
Price range - Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Skoda Kushaq is an affordable substitute buyers can consider as its top-spec Prestige variant, which gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine priced at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It is also available in a special edition version, called Kushaq Monte Carlo, featuring a flashy red colour and sporty 17-inch alloy wheels.
Skoda offers the Kushaq in two petrol engine options: a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol motor. Both are available with a choice of manual or automatic transmission. It gets a 10-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a single-pane electric sunroof, 6 airbags as standard, and hill hold assist.
Price range - Rs 10 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors is one of the carmakers to offer a crossover coupe, the Curvv, in the segment. Its all-electric version, the Curvv EV, directly rivals the Creta Electric but one can also buy it in different ICE versions. Speaking of which, the Curvv is available with two petrol and a diesel engine options with a choice of manual or automatic transmission. The top-spec petrol and diesel variant of the Curvv cost Rs 19.17 lakh and 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Key highlights of the crossover coupe include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch all-digital driver’s display, 8 speakers with a subwoofer, front seat ventilation, wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, hill hold assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and ADAS with 20 functions.
Price range - Rs 11.91 lakh to Rs 16.73 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Honda Elevate is available in three variants and 11 colour options. While its top-spec ZX CVT variant costs Rs 16.63 lakh (ex-showroom), customers can also pick the new Elevate Black Edition for Rs 16.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The manual variant of the Black Edition, however, will set you back for Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
Unlike the other compact SUVs in the segment, the Elevate is available in a single engine choice – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. The SUV gets various features, such as a single-pane sunroof, a semi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, 6 airbags, a lane watch camera, hill hold assist, and ADAS.
Price range - Rs 11.14 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder – the re-badged version of the Maruti Grand Vitara – is available in three distinct powertrain options. The top-spec variants of the entry-level 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is priced at Rs 17.24 lakh (ex-showroom), while the 1.5-litre strong hybrid costs Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The self-charging hybrid powertrain claims to deliver a mileage of 27.97 kmpl. It can also be had in an all-wheel drive system.
Toyota has equipped the Hyryder with a panoramic sunroof, projector LED headlights, a heads-up display, connected car tech, a 9-inch infotainment system, 6 airbags, a 36-degree camera, TPMS, hill hold control, and electronic stability control (ESC). The SUV comes in 11 paint options, including four dual-tone shades.
Price range - Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh
Volkswagen Taigun, which shares its platform with the Skoda Kushaq, is also an affordable alternative in the compact SUV segment to the Hyundai Creta Electric. The SUV is available in two engine options, such as a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit across three different transmission options. The GT Line and GT Plus Sport versions offer cosmetic changes to the SUV over the standard variants.
The Taigun is fitted with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, paddle shifters, 6 speakers with an amplifier and a subwoofer, front seat ventilation, a single-pane sunroof, 6 airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability programme (ESP), and multi-collision brakes. It is also available in a matte colour option.
The buyers can not only buy the compact SUV alternatives in their top-spec variants at a less price than the Hyundai Creta Electric but also get similar features. The compact SUVs also offer different powertrain options, including naturally aspirated petrol, turbocharged petrol, strong-hybrid petrol, diesel, and CNG. With a wide range of options to choose from, buyers can pick their favourite SUV depending on the styling, features, safety equipment, and powertrain.
