The two largest Indian carmakers, Mahindra and Tata Motors are readying their new and upcoming offerings to showcase at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which will be held between 17 and 22 January. However, the Auto Expo 2025 will open to the public on 19 January. That said, here we have created a list of the upcoming cars from Mahindra and Tata Motors.
BE 6
Mahindra’s BE 6 (previously BE 6e) has been in the headlines for various reasons, including the trademark dispute with IndiGo. The most recent news about it was the Pack Three pricing. The brand will be showcasing the funky electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 alongside a few other models, such as the XEV 9e.
The BE 6 is priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). While these prices are applicable for the Pack One and Pack Three, bookings for the Pack Three variant will commence on 14 February. Also, the booking schedule of the other variants will be announced in March 2025. Notably, deliveries of the BE 6 are set to begin in March.
XEV 9e
Another new Mahindra to be on display at the Auto Expo 2025 will be the XEV 9e. On Tuesday this week, the automaker revealed the price of its top-spec variant, the Pack Three. Now, the prices of the XEV 9e start from Rs 21.90 lakh and go up to Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Similar to the BE 6, the bookings for the Pack Three variant will open on 14 February, while the details about the remaining variants will be revealed in March 2025. Customer deliveries are also slated for March. It is interesting to note that this electric SUV is as large as the Toyota Fortuner in length but features a coupe-style slanting roofline.
Sierra EV
The iconic Sierra is all geared up to return in an all-electric form and modern avatar. While Tata Motors has already showcased the Sierra EV a few times, it will unveil the production version of the electric SUV at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025.
The Sierra EV is expected to use Tata’s new Acti.EV platform that supports a dual-motor setup and fast charging capabilities. It may be offered in a choice of two battery packs as well as include features, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging and vehicle-to-load (V2L). Expect a range of about 400-500 km.
Sierra ICE
Alongside the showcase of the production version of the Sierra EV, the Sierra ICE is likely to make its debut in the concept form. It is expected to share its design, interior, features, and safety equipment with its all-electric counterpart.
Under the bonnet, the Sierra ICE concept might debut the new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This engine makes 170 PS and 280 Nm and is likely to be mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Additionally, Tata could offer it with a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor that powers the on-sale Harrier and Safari. This engine produces 170 PS and 350 Nm and is coupled to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Curvv And Curvv EV Dark Edition
In recent years, Tata has introduced several Dark Edition versions of its offerings, such as the Nexon Dark, Safari Dark, and Harrier Dark. In line with this trend, we expect the carmaker to pull the wraps off the new Curvv and Curvv EV Dark at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is also worth mentioning that there are also Red Dark Editions of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, featuring a vivid red interior with red accents throughout. The changes will likely be cosmetic, with no changes in the powertrains, irrespective of the model.
The new Sierra EV is going to be the showstopper for Tata, while the futuristic BE 6 will be the highlight at the Mahindra pavilion. Although this list of the upcoming Tata and Mahindra cars at the Auto Expo 2025 is short, expect a few surprise unveils or concept showcases.
