MG Motor India is geared up to make a bold statement in 2025 with an impressive lineup of premium offerings expected to be introduced on our shores. Also, MG has confirmed that three models will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, under their pavilion themed ‘Drive.future.’ This futuristic lineup promises an exciting mix of vehicles, including plug-in hybrid models, an all-electric SUV, a luxury premium MPV, and even a sporty roadster. Here’s a closer look at what could be in store:
Expected Debut: January 17, 2025
Expected Price: Rs 75 lakh to Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom)
MG Motor India is set to introduce the Cyberster two-door convertible sports car to the Indian market at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo on January 17, 2025. The car will be sold exclusively at MG Select retail showrooms, an outlet where the carmaker will exclusively sell its premium models.
Starting with its performance, the car's chassis will be tuned by former Italian F1 engineer Marco Fainello. It will feature a 77 kWh battery pack that powers its dual motors, capable of producing a massive output of 510 PS and 725 Nm. With this setup, it will sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds.
Inside, it will come equipped with all the necessary amenities expected in a sports car, including an infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, plenty of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and numerous physical controls.
Expected Debut: January 17, 2025
Price: Around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom)
The MG Gloster is long overdue for an update and the carmaker could showcase the facelifted SUV at Auto Expo 2025. In fact, the facelifted full size SUV has been spotted testing for a while now and this event could be the perfect time for the carmaker to unveil it.
Major changes are reserved for the exterior, where the SUV is expected to feature a newly designed fascia alongside a more muscular overall silhouette. Inside, it will likely undergo minor restyling with new cabin themes and added features such as a digital driver’s display and more creature comforts.
It is expected to continue with its two diesel engines: a 2-litre turbo-diesel making 161 PS and 374 Nm, and a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel producing 216 PS and 479 Nm. Both these engine options are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Launch Date: To Be Announced
Expected Price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
The MG Astor hasn’t undergone any revisions since its launch. That said, the compact SUV has been updated globally, indicating an Indian revision might be on the cards. The refreshed global model, featuring a more aggressive design, a newly designed grille, and updated lighting elements, could make its way to our shores as a facelifted version.

Updates within the cabin might include a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, redesigned hexagonal AC vents, the familiar 7-inch digital driver’s display, a vertically stacked wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats and steering wheel. For safety, like its international counterpart, it could include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ADAS.
It’s under the hood where the big changes are expected. It can get a 1.5-litre hybrid engine with 196 PS and 465 Nm output. That could be offered alongside the current 140 PS / 220 Nm 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and 110 PS / 144 Nm 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, as MG is pushing to introduce greener models in India. Transmission options would include a 6-speed AT for the turbo-petrol and a 5-speed MT or CVT gearbox for the NA petrol.
Launch Date: To Be Announced
Price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
The compact crossover MG HS Plug-in Hybrid SUV could also make its way to India, positioning itself above the Astor and below the Gloster in the premium compact 5-seater SUV segment. The new generation of this model recently debuted in the UK, featuring aggressive styling with sleek headlights and a sloping roofline.
Inside, the SUV is expected to offer dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, heated front seats, a powered tailgate, and an eight-speaker sound system. For safety, it is likely to include seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS features, similar to its international counterpart.
Under the hood, the HS SUV is expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid engine paired with a 24.7 kWh battery pack, delivering a combined output of 299 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It will likely have an electric only WLTP-claimed range of 120 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds.
Expected Launch: August 2025
Price: Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom)
The MG Mifa 9, a luxury premium MPV, was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023. Its commercial launch in India is anticipated in August 2025. Following the Cyberster, the Mifa 9 will also be available exclusively through the brand’s premium MG Select retail outlets. It will be an electric MPV that will go up against ICE models such as the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire.
This MPV’s top features can include powered front and second-row seats, multiple zones of climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and Level-2 ADAS capabilities apart from the usual tech and features. It is expected to be offered in both 7-seater and 8-seater configurations to cater to varying customer needs.
Globally, the Mifa 9 comes equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive WLTP-claimed range of 595 km.
Expected Launch: December 2025
Price: Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom)
The MG 4 EV is an all-electric offering from the automaker, expected to debut in India by the end of next year. Like the Mifa 9, the MG 4 EV was also showcased earlier at Auto Expo 2023.
This EV will likely be equipped with modern features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, connected car technology, wireless phone charging, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality.
Internationally, the MG 4 EV is available with two battery pack options: 51 kWh and 64 kWh, mated to a rear-wheel driven e-motor delivering a peak output of 205 PS and 250 Nm. MG claims a maximum range of up to 450 km for the MG 4 EV.
