2021 has been a successful yet quiet year for Suzuki motorcycles. Successful because the Access 125 and Burgman 125 continue to rake in good numbers and quiet because… well, we didn’t really see many new motorcycle launches by the company. Hopefully, 2022 will be different. Here’s what you can expect from Suzuki next year:
Suzuki Burgman Electric
Everyone was expecting the Suzuki Burgman Electric to be launched in 2021 but it looks like the company is taking a tad longer with it, probably to perfect it.
We believe Suzuki will finally launch the Burgman Electric next year and this is backed by its latest spy shots, revealing a production-ready scooter sans camouflage. The Burgman Electric would be Suzuki’s first EV and its fourth scooter here alongside the Burgman Street, the Access 125, and the new Avenis.
Suzuki GSX-S1000 & GSX-S1000GT
Suzuki recently took wraps off its all-new flagship naked and sports tourer bikes, the GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S1000GT, the modern iterations of the outgoing GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S1000F. Since the latter two were on sale in India during BS4 times, their new iterations will probably make way to our shores too.
Both bikes have undergone massive updates for 2021, including an all-new design language, new electronics package, and most importantly, a BS6-compliant heart.
Suzuki Katana
The Suzuki Katana was recently updated to meet Euro-5 norms. And this means it’s finally suitable for an India launch. Given its popularity in India and the fact that Suzuki showcased it here at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Katana is expected to set foot in India next year.
Apart from being a good looker, the Katana comes equipped with a 999cc, inline-four engine putting out 152PS and 106Nm. This is topped by a bi-directional quickshifter, a handful of electronics, fully adjustable forks, and Brembo brakes. Sounds yummy, doesn’t it?
Suzuki V-strom 1050
Finally, Suzuki could also launch the new V-strom 1050 in India. While this is a long shot, the ADV segment has never been more popular in the country, thus making it an ideal time for the V-strom’s arrival.
The flagship Suzuki ADV goes against the Ducati Multistrada V4, the BMW R 1250 GS, and the Triumph Tiger 1200.
