AMG GT2 is a kitted-out race car

The AMG GT2 has been extensively modified according to FIA standards. It has a carbon-fibre and aluminium space-frame construction, a clean and minimalist overall design, lightly modified bumper, subtle splitter and bonnet scoop and a large rear spoiler.

Mercedes touts safety as its top priority when it comes to making the track car and has thus given it features such as a six-point seat belt, safety nets, carbon fuel tank and emergency measures including a roof hatch for extrication and a powerful fire extinguishing system. It also has a steel roll cage, while electronic aids such as adjustable ESC and racing ABS will come in handy if a hairy moment occurs on track.

The AMG GT2 is powered by a 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that’s dialled all the way up to 707PS and 800Nm and paired with a six-speed sequential racing gearbox. That’s a lot of power for a car that weighs less than 1,400kg.

Moreover, the AMG GT2 has adjustable racing suspension, powerful brakes with six-piston calipers and massive 325-section racing slicks.
