The most visible change in the 2012 Fiat Punto and the Linea models is the new striking new Oceanic Blue exterior shade, which gives both the hot hatch and the sleek sedan a further distinguishable look. For improving driver comfort and on road stability Fiat has also increased the ride height by 185 mm in both cars. Other than this the interiors of both these cars now receive a new brighter dual tone combination in black and grey, giving the interior cabin a classier and a far more premium look and feel.
On the technology and added features front the 2012 Punto model’s already powerful air conditioning system will now feature automatic climate control and rear vents even in the lower spec models. The base variant (Active) of the Punto model is equipped with an integrated audio system and a central locking feature.
Engine options on the new Punto model will continue to offer their three trusted power plants in the form of the 1.2 L and 1.4 L FIRE Petrol, along with the well renowned 1.3 L turbo diesel model, while the 1.3 Multijet Diesel and 1.4 FIRE Petrol will be on service for the larger Linea sedan model.
In the case of the Linea, safety features now trickle down to the lower specification models, in the form of airbags, ABS and EBD systems. Better connectivity with a Blue & Me (Bluetooth) system will now be offered in the mid variant versions. Leather seats with 16” alloys for the new Linea, result in a comfortable and stable ride.
Speaking on the launch of 2012 Linea and Punto, Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, President & CEO, FIAT India Automobiles Ltd said, “With the launch of 2012 Linea and Punto this year our customer can enjoy an experience which is delightful and uniquely FIAT.”
Common feature upgrades in both the 2012 Punto and Linea models includes rain sensing wipers and automated lights upfront. Ex-showroom Delhi prices of the new 2012 FIAT Punto and Linea models across their 11 trim levels are listed as below.
