Kawasaki kicked up a storm when it came up with the H2, here was a street legal bike that made over 200PS of power and was the first bike ever to come with a supercharger
Kawasaki Ninja H2

Kawasaki has a knack for disruption, when they first forayed into racing they chose to colour their bikes the iconic Kwaker green which at the time was considered as an unlucky colour. Then in the seventies they rolled out the completely mental, original H2 a 750cc 3-cylinder two-stroke motorcycle simply to prove a point and to “disrupt what it thought was a sleeping motorcycle market.” That very motorcycle’s namesake wreaked havoc yet again when Kawasaki revealed it. The H2 is a road legal machine which makes over 200PS of peak power from a 998cc inline four cylinder ‘supercharged’ engine. The H2 can sprint to 100kmph from stand still in just 2.6 seconds and has a limited top speed of 290kmph.

Kawasaki had to be the technology of the year awardee for anyone can make a motorcycle concept with a supercharged engine. But it takes special commitment and total insanity to actually bring it on to the road, kudos Kawasaki, kudos.
