2016 Auto Expo: New Toyota Prius unveiled

Taking a step towards the go green philosophy and as part of the Toyota India Eco Vision, Toyota debuted the  all-new Prius in India today. 

Toyota says this 4th generation Prius too retains the brands 'always ahead of its time' DNA. 

The Prius promises an efficiency of 40kmpl. In terms of safety the car will come equipped with 7 airbags, Anti-lock braking system, Vehicle Stability Control and more. 

The new Prius will be powered by the 1.8-litre petrol engine that is available globally. The hybrid components are now smaller, including a new lithium-ion hybrid battery which now is placed underneath the rear seats instead below the luggage area in the trunk. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a CVT box.

Along with the Prius, Toyota introduced its all new telematics service to India - Toyota Connect.  With the help of this feature  they want to stay connected with the dealers and customers. Toyota says almost 99% of its customers have smart phones which makes it very important for them to stay connected. With Toyota Connect they intend want to offer convenience and peace of mind to the customers. With the help of this feature you can get any sort of assistance including directions to any destination, book a service, locate nearest dealer and more.

While the launch date has not been confirmed yet, one can look forward to more news from the Toyota Prius in the coming months.
